Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 118 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. The islands are separated by canals and linked by 400 bridges.

It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces.

The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.

The uniqueness of the way which the city is built made it a great attraction for people from different parts of the world.

There is a lot you can see and do here with the locals being friendly people. The highly celebrated architecture of the city and art ensure it receives a minimum of 60, 000 tourist a day.
